The organization firmly believes that livelihood promotion is a key working area not only to augment the family income of the most marginalized communities but also to break the vicious cycle of poverty and increased investment on health and education – the triggers towards betterment of the marginalized communities and enhancement of productivity.  Livelihood options directly restraints the rate of migration of daily wage workers from rural and urban areas of Bihar.

DVAS has been engaged in livelihood promotion of its key communities through a combination of initiatives as information dissemination of government schemes of agriculture department, fishery, animal husbandry and horticulture to augment the family income through these traditional practices. It also organizing trainings to upgrade the existing skills and even to being in new entrepreneurships as per the feasibility in the intervention area.

The organization has also interventions aimed at enhancing the access to government livelihood Schemes in Big way through coordination approach in MGNREGs, Bihar State Skill Development Program and State Livelihood mission. The organization has successfully promote various enterprise development among marginalized communities as – trading activity, goatary, cooperative farming, village level production center a few to name.
